Easter weekend means back to babysitting the Salmon at 2 schools, I was in Friday & Saturday & is there ever a difference in the 2 schools, some of the salmon are 2 or 3 times the size of others, I restocked Wingham Maitland River Elementary School on Monday & added 25 more to the Sacred Heart School & can you ever see the difference, the biggest one in the Hillcrest aquarium has to be close to 4" with about 70 Salmon & the smallest one in the Sacred Heart aquarium is a little more then an inch with about 60 Salmon, with about a month to go these things are going to be huge at release. The students are still very excited & are hoping to go fishing after the release this year.
Baby sitting a bunch of Salmon over March Break, what a great way to kill some time, Grand Daughters helping with the feeding & are they ever feeding, just like baby Piranha.
I had the privilege to be interviewed last year to help spread the word about the Lake Huron Fishing Clubs School Salmon Hatchery Program: If you get a chance to Follow Josh Choronzey articles in the Owen Sound Sun Times Thursday edition he will keep you informed on whats happening in the Outdoors. This was a well written article on the LHFC School Salmon Hatchery Program.
