Started off by driving to Port Elgin to the LHFC Salmon Hatchery, after getting the Eggs in the containers & after a short talk it was off to Walkerton Sacred Heart High School, Mildmay Sacred Heart Junior School, Teeswater Hillcrest School, Teeswater Sacred Heart School & F.E. Madill High School to deliver the Salmon Eggs & start off the new season, everybody was very excited to see the Eggs as some of the Aquariums have been set up for over a week.
When we arrived at the Ramp there were no other Trailers in the parking lot & we were asked if we would wait around long enough to have Measurements, Weight & Scale Samples from our fish taken, my reply was as long as I can get a bit of video sure lol. We started fishing in 70' of water out front of Douglas Point trolling out to 120' in front of Bruce B then back to 85' at the north point of Inverhuron Bay & then across the front of Bruce B in 75' TO 90' of water, 1 Laker, 2 Rainbows, 2 Coho & 3 Chinook in an afternoon of fishing. Likely the last time out there this year but maybe not. Tight Lines Richard

Well over 110 students and parents came out to release the fish Saturday morning. Every student had a fish to release. Great success. Several parents and their children toured the salmon hatchery afterwards. Shoreline Beacon and Saugeen Times covered this event. Northport also video taped it and it will be on their web-site.

Another cool wet day to release the Salmon but everyone seemed to enjoy it, after the release the schools split up, Goderich started with the Lighthouse Tour while Brookside headed to the Trout Hatchery first. Al Wilkins did another great job of informing the students about the Brown & Rainbow Trout & how the Hatchery is run & the Invasive Species that have moved into the Great Lakes.
