Lake Huron Fishing Club & Georgian Triangle Anglers Association form a Partnership to run the School Salmon Hatchery Program in Collingwood
Last day of Bass season and I was planning on fishing most of the day but last night I found out that Georgian Triangle Anglers Association had 2 Schools in Collingwood that just had approval to join our program, so off to Ethel as planned to try and fix a problem they had, no such luck as we found a crack in the aquarium so I drained it and than it was off to Collingwood to set up 2 Schools. #Brucepower has helped with the funding of the LHFC School Salmon Hatchery Program again this year and between all the clubs involved we'll have 36 schools raising salmon in their schools.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO BRUCE POWER FOR MAKING THIS A GREAT SUCCESS.
Rick Baldry of the GTAA met me with a couple of other volunteers to help set up the equipment and they brought hatchery water to start the Aquariums off with.

Jean Vanier Catholic High School
Very much worth giving up a days fishing to see everything fall into place today, with a new working relationship between our clubs.
Thanx Guys Richard

After phoning all the Pet Stores in Milton from a parking lot out side Pet Smart to try and buy a plain 20 gallon aquarium and being told they don't have any but Big Al's in Mississauga will have them I bought 2 kits so I could save driving an extra 1.5 hours to Big Al's, lol. Set up number 18 in another new school for this year.
Working with Mike Burke to set this up in his class.

Tonight on the 6:00 CTV London News find out a bit more about the LHFC School Salmon Hatchery program, Scott Miller showed up and interviewed Myself , the Teacher Larry Grail & 3 of the Students about the Program, The Lake Huron Fishing Club School Salmon Hatchery Program & Bruce Power partnership is benefitting more than just our local schools. We have formed a partnership between LHFC and the following five clubs: Bluewater Anglers & their 4 schools in Sarnia; Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association & their 2 new schools; 1 of the Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen's Association members will be helping with the Wiarton School joining SSA & LHFC; United Fish & Game Clubs of Manitoulin & their 1 school; Canadian Bass Anglers Federation with 1 of the members from Waterloo/Wellington/Mississauga clubs helping out with a Guelph school and Forest City Bassmasters helping out with 1 school in London and 1 school in Komoka. This is great to see and as a result there will be 34 schools or so involved with the program. That should add up to over 1,000 students directly involved with raising the Salmon in their Classrooms or Library’s, from Sarnia to Milton to Manitoulin Island. We would like to send a huge “Thank You” to Bruce Power for making this a reality.

St Anthony's Seperate School has their Hatchery set up in the Library again this year, they received one of our new chiller last year that has a coil in the tank rather than sucking the water out with a pump and pushing it through a chiller to hold it at 10c/50f and back into the tank.
Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School was second to be set up
Huron Heights Public School was the last one for the day still lots to go yet.
