Saugeen Shores OFAH Get Outdoors Youth Club Hatchery Tour
Monday night there was a full house at the Port Elgin Chinook Salmon hatchery, Garry started with a talk in the office & showed the difference from a mature male & female by using the mounts that are on the wall, talked about salmon & then headed into the hatchery to show the group the hatchery water pumps & aeration system then on to the Salmon & Rainbow tanks. Brian showed them how the tanks get cleaned & the old youth stayed to help with the rest of the jobs while the rest of the group went outside & Garry finished his talk & answered questions before they continued on to walk around the pond behind the Hatchery & took a walk to the beach to finish off their night.
