Bruce Power & LHFC Partnership Announcement

The evening started out with introductions, a Home cooked Meal & Pies, after that Bruce Power announced what their plans are to start the next 3 years of our Paretnership. Information about some of the studies they are doing & how we can help with supplying information through our Web Site on fish caught & if we see their temperature equipment out of place throughout the lake more info to follow in our News Letter.

Bruce Power announces a $12,000.00 donation for the LHFC School Salmon Hatchery Program for 2013 & another $8,000.00 for a total of $20,000.00 for 2013 & as a Partnership takes some time to build a relationship they also added another $20,000.00 for the next 2 year for a total of $60,000.00 for 2013-2015, what a way to start a Partnership, Thank You to all involved, Group Picture After the Meal 75 people were booked to be there & the ladies said 98 actually showed up & a Great Meal it was. LHFC Release 58,000 Rainbow Trout 6" to 10"

The Lake Huron Fishing Club & the Ontario Steelheaders were busy on Saturday driving from Kincardine Hatchery to different locations around Walkerton & started to Release the 58,000  Rainbow Trout they raised, the Eggs were collected last April & they were taken care of by a Dedicated bunch of Hatchery Volunteers until they reached 6" to 10", the Water Temperature was right & their journey to the lake has started & this years Rainbow Eggs are already collected & will be taken care of until next years Release. Both organization are always looking for new Members. membership form can be found on their websites.   

LHFC North Port School Salmon Hatchery Release

Well over 110 students and parents came out to release the fish Saturday morning. Every student had a fish to release. Great success. Several parents and their children toured the salmon hatchery afterwards. Shoreline Beacon and Saugeen Times covered this event. Northport also video taped it and it will be on their web-site.
